"No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God's love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow -- not even the powers of hell can separate us from God's love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below -- indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord." ~ Romans 8:37-39 NLT

Have y'all ever felt that you weren't good enough because you didn't do enough?
I know that I have definitely felt like that before. Even as I am writing this post, I can't help but remember how miserable I was feeling yesterday because I couldn't finish this post. I felt like I was letting y'all down, but I mostly felt like I was letting God down. I mean, why couldn't I just get myself together?
Today, I read something that said, "The love of God is greater than our lack of performance."
I feel like that ties in perfectly to the verse of the week and to how I was feeling. In this verse, Paul is writing that NOTHING can separate us from God's love -- even if it's our lack of performance.
Our relationship with God is based on our faith in Jesus, not on our "good" performance. This was a reminder to me that whether or not I write or finish a blog post, God still loves me. He loves me despite my flaws, despite my failures, and He loved us while we were still sinners.
So yes, I didn't write a blog post. Does that make God love me any less? Not at all.
There will be days we fail. There will be days when we are emotionally drained and tired. There will be days that we don't draw near to God. But, we have to remember what began our relationship with God and what will sustain it: God's love for us that is shown through Jesus Christ.
God wants us. He doesn't want our good deeds, He doesn't want a performance, He wants us. He died for us and because of that, we can have victory through Him.
So nothing, and I mean nothing, can separate us from the wonderful love that God has bestowed upon us.
