Love Song

Okay, okay. Have you ever thought about this?

Most Christian songs are about a love story.

I'm listening to “Known” (by Tauren Wells), and it like a "love" song.

I mean, doesn't this show that God is love. That God loves.

Compared to a song such as “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran, I mean, isn't “Known” (or practically almost any other Christian song) similar?

The only real difference is that “Perfect” is of the world. It's the world's perception of "perfection" or a "perfect relationship."

But with Christian songs it resembles something that can be attained, something that we can experience. These songs are written about God's love, and although it could possibly pass as a "worldly" love song, worldly expectations would never live up to the love God gives us.

The vibes from both songs are different.

In “Perfect”, although it describes something at the current moment, what about the future?

But in the song “Known”, it is sung in assurance. That we know God will listen. That we know God will love us, now and forever, and nothing will change.

But what about the song “Perfect”?

Will it last? Probably not.
